SCIS Photo - App Review
SCIS Photo is a free application that allows users to take their photo and submit it directly from their smartphone when applying for a Secure Certificate of Indian Status (SCIS). Developed by SAC - ISC, this app eliminates the cost of photos and provides a convenient way to submit the photo required to apply for the secure status card.
To complete the application process, users must submit a complete application (Form 83-172E), a Guarantor Declaration (Form 83-169E), and supporting documentation. The SCIS Photo app encrypts all information provided, ensuring the privacy and security of personal information in accordance with the Privacy Act.
It is important to note that users must be registered as a Status Indian under the Indian Act to obtain a status card. The SCIS Photo app cannot be used to submit photos for the laminated Certificate of Indian Status (CIS). Additionally, the app may not work on devices other than smartphones, such as iPads and tablets.
